Thank you for reading our adoption story-we love to share it! When we called ABC we were excited to share our lives with a son or daughter and eager to start the adoption process. After speaking with several agencies we decided the ABC staff made us feel most welcome and comfortable asking lots of questions. They guided us through the home study process and told us what we could expect during each part of our adoption journey.

Once our home study was completed we created our portfolio. Our portfolio is a great representation of our lives, interests, families, and ourselves. This would be shown to birth parents. We will always remember in great detail the day we got the call telling us we had been selected and may be parents!

Meeting the birth parents was an amazing experience. Our social worker had prepared us for this emotional meeting and knew exactly how nervous we were feeling. We talked about all kinds of things, and really hit it off. We felt fortunate that we had the chance to meet our child's birth parents and savor that memory to share with our child.

There was nothing left to do but wait for the baby to arrive. We attended doctor's appointments with the birth mother and told some of our friends and family of our impending arrival. ABC kept in constant contact with both the birth parents and ourselves during this time. We called the office any time we had questions or wanted things clarified.

Nothing could prepare us for the incredible rush of emotions at our daughter's birth. We were present as her birth mother cuddled her and offered the first bottle. What an amazing experience to share! Baby Kate was happy, healthy and so loved! We love sharing the story of how we became a family, through the miracle of adoption and help from ABC. Kate is truly a unique blend of all the people in her life. We count our blessings each day that we are so fortunate to be in her life.
