Adoption from South Korea

ABC Adoption is proud to be a networking agency with Spence-Chapin. Since 1975, Spence-Chapin has worked cooperatively with the Social Welfare Society, Inc. in South Korea to find loving adoptive homes for children. SWS is the oldest international adoption agency in Korea, established by the Korean government in 1954 after the Korean War. SWS provides a broad range of comprehensive services to the Korean people and is an exceptionally well-respected agency.

Infants, one to two days of age, are generally brought directly from the hospital or birthing clinic to SWS in Seoul whre they are cared for in a small, cozy baby nursery (known as the Baby Reception Center) during their first 4-8 weeks of life. The infants receive much individualized care from nurses and volunteers. Additionally, the SWS pediatrician makes medical rounds twice daily to examine the babies in the nursery. As soon as possible, the babies are placed with carefully screened, loving foster families who reside in Seoul and the surrounding region.

Ready to get started? ABC is committed to sharing adoption information to interested couples and individuals as they explore their options. Consultations are offered free-of-charge without obligation. Let us know if we can be of assistance.
